Wild Weekend!

So how did you make out during the weekend?  Were you snowed in?  Actually, I think almost everyone was.  That was some snow storm!!  I kept watching the Weather Channel Friday night and Saturday and they kept going to Mike Bettes who was in downtown Cleveland reporting on the storm.  Sometime Saturday he said that of all the times he's covered weather phenomena this was the most miserable he's ever been.  That's saying something!!  I realized how bad it was when he said he had personally seen 6 RTA buses stuck in the same intersection and that the snow plows were getting stuck.   Then everyone started comparing this storm to the blizzard of '78.  Now, I wasn't living in northeast Ohio at the time (I was in central Pennsylvania) but I had relatives that were.  I've heard stories of that winter and this weekend just doesn't compare.  I know that in Pennsylvania we didn't have a full week of school for a month and all we did was shovel.  There's a picture of my sister and me on top of a snow drift with the top of our pool's fence just sticking up through the snow.  Going down the road seemed like going through a topless tunnel that winter.  That winter just seemed to go on and on and on and we just kept getting pounded by the snow.   So, as bad as this past weekend was, in my opinion it doesn't touch the winter of '78.  What do you think?  Do you agree?

Oh, I also mentioned on my show today that I'd put a link to a website that will help your guy cook better.  Actually, I'm not much of a cook so maybe I ought to check it out.  It's supposed to have step-by-step guides and pictures so you can make sure you're right on track.  Check it out!  www.meninaprons.net

1 - '78 was definitely worse... But the recent winter weather most certainly made me remember them! I had a paper route back in '78 (The Canton Repository), and I remember my Mom coming to me as I was preparing the papers for delivery, she had gotten a dozen calls from my subscribers encouraging me to stay home, and only 1 complaint. The following day Mom drove me around the route... a couple subscribers met me at their door with a gift or tip for NON-delivery! How cool is THAT?!

That's a cool website. Now find the woman's version, willya? hehehe (Comment this)
