Dancing With the Stars
So did you watch Dancing With the Stars last night? We're down to just 3...Mel B., Helio and Marie. I have to say I was disappointed with the dancing last night. The first dance each of them did was a style the judges decided upon. I always like to see the freestyle dance. First of all, it's hyped like crazy throughout the competition. Second, it's interesting to see what the choreographers come up with for their partners. Third, they can do lifts, which is always exciting. I was very disappointed with Mel and Maks' freestyle. As Carrie Ann said last night to Mel, she's better than that. The lifts were great! But the dance itself was boring. And I thought it featured Maks too much. Now, I love to watch Maks dance but this was supposed to show off Mel and she seemed to take a back seat to him, which we expect in the Paso Doble (scary how I'm learning these dances, huh?) but not in the freestyle. Marie's freestyle was just plain bizarre. However, I didn't hate it as much as the judges did. I understand what she was doing but it was just weird. Very risky which I give her credit for, but weird. The crowd LOVED Helio's freestyle but I wasn't as on board for it. It was good, but not outstanding. I still think Mel SHOULD win. She's the best overall dancer. Marie is lacking in technique and Helio is rather one-dimensional. Mel is the most versatile. BUT, we also know the final standings are not based as much on dance ability as it is in fan support. So I won't be surprised if Marie wins tonight. But, as you very well know....I want Mel and Maks to win. By the way, I heard Donny Osmond is insterested in being one of the contestants next season as is Celine Dion. We'll see what happens.
